Glossary of Terms
Familiarize yourself with these terms before reading the rulebook — they define the expectations within the server.
Active Roleplay (Active RP)
Any roleplay scenario that is currently taking place and has not yet concluded. Players may not use Out of Character (OOC) actions or disconnect to avoid the outcome of an active roleplay situation.
Combat Logging
Disconnecting from the server, intentionally crashing, or otherwise leaving an active roleplay scenario to avoid consequences, arrest, death, or interaction with other players.
FailRP
Any action that is unrealistic, breaks immersion, ignores roleplay standards, or is inconsistent with how a reasonable person would behave in the situation.
FearRP
Roleplaying realistic fear when your character is placed in a dangerous or life-threatening situation. Your character should react in a believable manner and prioritize their own safety.
Green Zone / Safe Zone
A designated area where criminal activity, violence, and disruptive behaviour are prohibited unless specifically authorised by server events or staff.
IC (In Character)
Anything your character says, knows, experiences, or does within the roleplay world.
Initiation
The roleplay actions, threats, or escalation that occur before force or violence is used. Proper initiation allows all involved players to understand that a conflict is developing.
KOS (Kill on Sight)
Killing another player without proper roleplay initiation or staff-approved circumstances. KOS is generally considered a form of Random Deathmatch (RDM).
Metagaming
Using information your character could not reasonably know through roleplay. This includes information gained through Discord, livestreams, friends, or any other out-of-character source.
New Life Rule (NLR)
After your character dies, they forget the events that directly led to their death. They may not return to the scene for the required cooldown period or seek revenge for that incident.
No Value of Life (NVL)
Acting as though your character's life has no value by ignoring obvious danger or making unrealistic decisions that a reasonable person would not make.
OOC (Out of Character)
Anything said or done outside of roleplay. OOC communication should be kept to a minimum and must never be used to gain an advantage during roleplay.
Powergaming
Forcing roleplay outcomes onto another player or performing actions that are unrealistic or beyond normal human capabilities without allowing fair interaction.
RDM (Random Deathmatch)
Attacking, injuring, or killing another player without valid roleplay initiation or a legitimate in-character reason.
Roleplay (RP)
The act of portraying a fictional character within the Forge RP world while interacting realistically with other players and the environment.
Server Restart ("Storm")
A scheduled server restart. Certain criminal activities and large-scale roleplay events may not be started within the restricted period before or after a scheduled restart.
Third-Party Communications
Using external communication platforms such as Discord, TeamSpeak, WhatsApp, or similar services to share roleplay information or gain an unfair advantage instead of using the server's in-game communication systems.
Third-Party Intervention
Joining an active roleplay scenario or firefight without a legitimate in-character reason or without being part of the original roleplay.
VDM (Vehicle Deathmatch)
Using a vehicle as a weapon to intentionally injure, kill, or disable another player without a valid roleplay reason.
Whitelisted Organization
An officially approved organization, gang, business, or government department that has been authorised by Forge RP Management to operate within the server.
Whitelisted Player
A player who has successfully completed the Forge RP application process and has been granted access to the server.
6v6 Rule
A maximum of six (6) active participants per side may take part in a criminal firefight unless otherwise authorised by server rules or staff. Players may not join an ongoing fight as reinforcements or rotate participants during the same incident.
1. Core Roleplay Rules
Core Roleplay Rules apply to every player at all times while connected to Forge RP. They form the foundation of the server and promote realistic, immersive, and enjoyable roleplay for everyone.
Forge RP is a serious roleplay server. Every action should contribute to a believable and immersive experience.
Roleplay should always take priority over winning, making money, or seeking action. Players are expected to create meaningful stories that enhance the experience for everyone involved.
The quality of your roleplay is more important than the outcome of any scenario.
2. Community Conduct
Forge RP is built on respect, maturity, and sportsmanship. These rules apply to all members, whether interacting in-game, on Discord, or through any official Forge RP platform.
3. Criminal Activities
Criminal roleplay is a core part of Forge RP and should create immersive, story-driven experiences. Always prioritize quality roleplay over winning, making money, or unnecessary violence.
4. Emergency Services
Interact with Law Enforcement, EMS, Fire & Rescue, and other government agencies in a realistic, respectful, and enjoyable manner. Every interaction should contribute to meaningful roleplay.
5. Combat & Initiation
Combat is a serious escalation of roleplay and should never be the primary objective. Every act of violence must have a legitimate in-character reason and contribute to meaningful roleplay.
6. Economy Rules
Forge RP's economy encourages long-term progression, meaningful businesses, and immersive roleplay. Earn, spend, and trade money through legitimate gameplay and realistic interactions.
7. Vehicle Rules
Vehicles are an essential part of everyday life within Forge RP and should be used in a realistic and responsible manner that promotes immersive roleplay.
8. Property Rules
Whether you own a home, operate a business, or rent an apartment, all properties should be used to create meaningful and immersive roleplay.
9. Organizations & Gangs
Organizations are expected to create long-term, story-driven roleplay that benefits the entire community. Being part of an organization does not exempt players from any server rules.
10. Punishment Guidelines
Disciplinary action protects the integrity of Forge RP. Punishments are based on severity, disciplinary history, intent, and the overall impact on the community and roleplay.
Final Notice
By joining Forge RP, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to comply with this Rulebook and all official server policies.
All players, staff members, and community members are required to adhere to the Terms of Service and Community Guidelines of all platforms used by Forge RP, including but not limited to Discord, Twitch, CFX/FiveM, Rockstar Games, and Steam. Violations of these platform policies may result in disciplinary action within Forge RP, regardless of whether the violation occurred in-game or through an associated platform.
Forge RP maintains a zero-tolerance policy towards cheating, exploiting, and the use of third-party software that provides an unfair advantage. Where there is reasonable suspicion of cheating or the use of prohibited software, Senior Administration or Server Ownership may require a player to participate in a cheat investigation, which may include a supervised PC scan using approved methods. Refusing to cooperate with a legitimate cheat investigation or intentionally obstructing the investigation may result in disciplinary action, up to and including permanent removal from the community.
The Forge RP Rulebook is a living document and will continue to evolve as the community grows. Server Management reserves the right to amend, update, remove, or introduce new rules at any time to ensure the continued fairness, balance, and integrity of the server. It is every member’s responsibility to remain informed of any rule changes or announcements.
While this Rulebook has been designed to cover the majority of situations, it is impossible to document every possible scenario. Any situation not specifically addressed within this Rulebook will be reviewed and decided at the discretion of Senior Administration and Server Ownership. These decisions will be made in the best interests of the community and the long-term health of Forge RP.
Senior Administration and Server Ownership reserve the right to exercise reasonable discretion when enforcing the rules. Each situation will be considered on its own merits, taking into account the available evidence, the intent of the actions, the player’s disciplinary history, and the overall impact on the roleplay experience. Decisions will always aim to uphold the spirit and purpose of the Rulebook rather than relying solely on its literal wording.
Attempting to exploit loopholes, omissions, or technical wording within the Rulebook to gain an unfair advantage or avoid accountability may still result in disciplinary action.
Ignorance of the rules will not be accepted as a defence for rule violations.
Thank you for being part of the Forge RP community and for helping us create a respectful, fair, and immersive roleplay environment.
